About Saltwater HR
Hi, I'm Nicky, the founder of Saltwater HR.
I started Saltwater HR in 2024 after years working in HR and recruitment, with a strong grounding in employment law and a track record of supporting businesses of all sizes across the UK.
Having worked in in-house HR, I saw first hand how large HR helplines often tie small businesses into long contracts, offering advice that isn't always commercial or practical, especially for businesses without an HR team or a formal management structure to fall back on. I wanted to do things differently: build real relationships locally, and give small businesses HR support that is honest, flexible, and reasonably priced, delivered by someone who listens, speaks plainly, and is genuinely invested in getting the right outcome for you and your team.
As Director and lead consultant, I'm your named point of contact: the person who knows your business, understands your challenges, and is there when you need advice. Where specialist support is needed, I call on a trusted network of associates, each with their own area of expertise, so you always get the right knowledge for the situation, without ever losing the personal, consistent relationship at the heart of what I do.
I work with ethical employers who genuinely care about their people. That means taking time to understand your business before I give any advice. I manage all day to day operations myself, so you'll always be able to contact me directly, not a junior consultant, not a rotating team.
