Instead of generic, risk‑averse advice or a call centre that doesn’t know your business, you get practical, commercially sensible HR support from someone who understands how small businesses actually work. We provide ongoing, practical HR support so you’re not second‑guessing people decisions or worrying about whether you’re compliant. You have access to an experienced HR professional who can tell you what you need to do, what order to do it in, and what risks to be aware of, before problems escalate.
This service gives you clarity, reassurance and time back. You know you have someone to call when something comes up, someone who will help you think it through properly, and someone who will guide you to a solution that is legally sound but also realistic for your business.
Unlike many HR helplines, we don’t promise everything and then tie you into long contracts or default to overly cautious guidance designed to protect the adviser rather than the business. Our support is relationship‑led, not script‑led. We take time to understand your business, your team and your appetite for risk, and we tailor our advice accordingly.
As part of the package, we also provide access to Breathe HR, a simple, cloud‑based HR system that keeps your employee records, absence and holiday information organised and up to date. We handle the setup and ongoing management of the system as part of your support, so you’re not paying for software you don’t use or don’t fully understand.
This combination of ongoing HR support and a properly managed HR system means fewer mistakes, better decisions, and less time spent firefighting people issues. It also means you are building solid HR foundations as you grow, rather than patching things together reactively.
The retainer is designed to support normal, day‑to‑day people management and is provided on a capped‑hours basis, giving you predictable costs and clear boundaries. When something falls outside the scope of ongoing support, we will always be open and upfront about it and agree next steps with you before any additional work is carried out.
This service is best suited to small and growing businesses who don’t need a full‑time HR hire, but do need reliable, experienced support they can trust. If you want clear advice, practical solutions and an HR partner who is on your side rather than hiding behind policy, this retainer is designed for you.
Pricing is simple and transparent and is based on the size of your team, allowing the support to scale as your business grows.
For businesses with 1 to 10 employees & up to 4 hours of support per month - £249/month
For businesses with up to 20 employees & up to 5 hours of support per month - £369/month
For businesses with up to 50 employees & up to 6 hours of support per month - £499/month
All retainers are subject to a minimum three-month commitment. Support is designed to support normal day-to-day people management requirements.
