Our consultation hour gives you direct access to expert HR advice, tailored guidance and practical solutions for your business. It is designed for employers who need focused support on a specific issue or who would benefit from an experienced HR professional to sense check their approach.
What you can use the hour for:
Advisory queries such as disciplinary or grievance concerns, performance management, sickness absence, contract variations, policy interpretation or day to day people challenges.
Support with light documentation such as response letters, scripts, meeting notes or other written materials that need to be produced promptly and accurately.
Clarifying your legal responsibilities and receiving clear risk based recommendations to support your decision making.
Reviewing an existing document, policy or contract and advising on required updates.
Talking through a sensitive or complex situation and agreeing your next steps.
Please note that extensive document drafting such as new employment contracts, handbooks, policies or detailed frameworks is not included in a one hour session and will be quoted separately.
What to expect:
After booking your hour you will receive a confirmation email and the option to share background information or relevant documents in advance. This allows us to use the full hour to focus on the advice, solutions and deliverables you need.
Most issues can be resolved within the session, and where documents are required these can usually be drafted within the hour. If further time is needed for more complex matters we will discuss this with you before proceeding.

Managers or owners who need clarity on a people issue and prefer a practical, straight talking approach that balances legal compliance with commercial reality.
Outcome:
You will leave the session with clear actions, a written summary where needed, and any agreed documents drafted or reviewed. The aim is to give you confidence, reduce risk and support you to move forward quickly.
These terms apply to all consultation hour bookings made with Saltwater HR Ltd. By booking a session you agree to these terms.
Scope of service
A consultation hour provides advisory guidance and support with short form documentation. Drafting within the hour is limited to brief documents such as letters, meeting notes, scripts or updates to your own templates. More extensive work including contracts, policies, handbooks and detailed frameworks falls outside the scope of the hour and will be quoted separately. Any additional work beyond the hour will be chargeable at the standard ad hoc rate and will only proceed with your agreement.
Booking and payment
Payment is required at the point of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing. Bookings are confirmed once payment has been received.
Cancellations and rescheduling
You may cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your appointment. Cancellations within 24 hours are chargeable in full. If you do not attend the session the fee remains payable. Should Saltwater HR need to cancel or reschedule, alternative dates will be offered as soon as reasonably possible.
Preparation and documentation
You are responsible for providing accurate background information and any relevant documents in advance. Any advice or drafting will rely on the information provided and cannot account for information not disclosed.
Advice and limitations
All guidance is provided in good faith based on UK employment law and HR best practice at the date of the consultation. The service does not constitute legal advice. Responsibility for decisions made following the session remains with you.
Confidentiality
All information shared will be treated as confidential except where disclosure is required by law or where you provide written consent.
Data protection
Personal data will be processed in accordance with Saltwater HR’s privacy policy and current data protection legislation.
Deliverables
Saltwater HR will use reasonable efforts to complete short form documents within the session using your templates where applicable. If this is not possible, or if the work required is more extensive than permitted within the hour, this will be discussed with you and additional costs agreed before proceeding.
Intellectual property
Documents created by Saltwater HR remain the intellectual property of Saltwater HR until payment is received in full. Once paid, you may use the documents internally within your business only.
Suitability of service
The consultation hour is intended for advisory matters and light documentation. Complex cases or substantial drafting may require separate project based support.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
